Dennis K. Smith’s works come alive through the use of descriptive, rhythmic brush work and vivid choreographed passages of colour. Smith places importance on well-staged compositions and tension, movement and balance. Art for Dennis has to reflect the inherent nature of the artist and give reason for its creation, yet maintain a degree of incompletion to allow the viewer to engage, reflect and unfold.
Dennis has exhibited in juried shows, group and solo exhibitions. His block prints were exhibited in the Canada - Japan Exchange Print Exhibition. Dennis conducts workshops as well as open classes at his LaSalle studio. He is the Co- founder and president of The Artists of Colour.
