Virtual Blackout Poetry Workshop

Thursday, February 18, 2021 | 7 pm – 8 pm

Join the Art Gallery of Windsor's Digital Initiatives Coordinator and former Student Writer-in-Residence, Micaela Muldoon, for a Virtual Blackout Poetry Workshop on Thursday, February 18 at 7:00 pm, presented in partnership with the Windsor Youth Centre. You will take existing words on a page and create new meanings by curating whichever words you want. This type of poetry can be combined with visual art! Create a collage, a painting, or a sketch around and throughout your poem, or keep the simple elegance of the blackout itself. The choice is yours! Just come out and flex your creative muscles, and have a good time!

Suggested Materials:
  • Pages from a magazine or newspaper or scanned from a book
  • Black marker and/or paint and/or collaging supplies (scissors, glue, coloured paper, printed images, hand-drawn images, magazines, newspapers)
  • OR use a blank Canva template (www.canva.com) and find an image of a page with words on it to use as a starting point.

Register HERE. After you register, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to join the Zoom meeting.
