Curator Tour of The Bridge Artists: Teresa Altiman, Naomi Peters, Daisy White

The Gordie Howe International Bridge is a once in a generation undertaking that will deliver much-needed transportation improvements for international travellers, bring jobs and opportunities for growth to the Windsor-Detroit region and includes features that make this project truly distinctive.
Join Karey Thatcher, Architectural Project Coordinator at the Windsor Detroit Bridge Authority, and Julie Rae Tucker, Head of Programs and Collections at the Art Gallery of Windsor for an in-person informative session on how architecture, aesthetics, local culture and heritage have been integrated into the visual identity of the bridge. Karey will go over everything from colours and textures, to lighting and landscaping alongside a 20-foot bridge scale model which highlights the intricate design details of the project components.
- This in-person, public program is free with admission to the Art Gallery of Windsor.

About the Speakers
Karey Thatcher, Architectural Project Coordinator at the Windsor Detroit Bridge Authority, oversees the aesthetics and architecture of the Gordie Howe International Bridge as well as the aesthetics and architecture of the buildings located at both the US and Canadian ports of entry. Karey brings more than 20 years of architectural and building science experience to the project, having worked in both small and multinational corporations within the architecture field.
Julie Rae Tucker is a Windsor-based artist, independent curator, cultural worker. She is Lunaapeewi and settler descent from the Munsee Delaware First Nation. She has exhibited and curated exhibitions across Canada and in Scotland. Her most recent project This is Not a Phase is on VUCAVU.
