On Thursday, July 21, the Gallery will be open late from 5-9 pm for AWE at Night featuring food and beverage pop-ups from local vendors as well as lively entertainment. Come on out for the beautiful views - both inside and out!
Looking to create? We have several activities for you!
Join us for a tour of Itee Pootoogook: Hymns to the Silence, led by exhibition curator and special guest Dr. Nancy Campbell.
As one of the key members of the third-generation Inuit artists from Kinngait (Cape Dorset), Pootoogook contributed to the transformation and reshaping of the creative traditions that were successfully pioneered in the second half of the 20th century by members of the West Baffin Eskimo Cooperative, at Kinngait Studios. Known as a meticulous draughtsman and inventive landscapist, Pootoogook looked primarily to contemporary northern life for his subject matter. The understated images celebrate the mundane moments that make up the everyday.
Join moderator Craig Pearson and panelists Sydney Brouillard-Coyle, Fartumo Kusow and Plamedi Matenda on the third floor of AWE for “Fighting for Freedom: A Community Conversation.” We encourage guests to familiarize themselves with AWE’s Code of Conduct prior to joining this event.
CJAM 99.1 FM and WindsorEats are back, and we're welcoming Zule Eats!
Head up to the third floor to hear what CJAM has in store, grab a drink from WindsorEats, and get some Ghanaian patties from Zule Eats.
*Regular admission prices apply. Always free to members*
Photography and videography will be present throughout the event. By entering this event site you agree to be filmed or photographed which may be used for marketing or promotional purposes.
