Thanks to the generous and ongoing support of Anne Safranyos and family, we're excited to announce that Family Fun Saturdays in the Studio is back at AWE! Join featured artist in the studio and create your own masterpieces!

Kumihimo is Japanese for "gathered threads", braid-making techniques dating from around 550 C.E. Kumihimo cords and ribbons are made by interlacing strands. The braids created by Japanese craftsmen served both ornamental and essential purposes. Construction methods were closely guarded secrets, passed from master to apprentice through the ages. Learn these techniques and take home your own marudai frame.
