Kidz'hibit presents... Urban Elements

Teen Art Week took place July 23-27, 2012, where ten teens -- along with their instructor and media artist Andrea Slavik -- explored the historical and contemporaneous overlap between still photography and the moving image through video and photography projects, discussions and presentations. They creatively put into practice principles of photographic composition while exploring the urban landscape of downtown Windsor. They also experimented with stop motion videos integrating the art work and architecture of the Art Gallery of Windsor for mise en scene. This exhibition was organized as part of AGW's Art Discovery programs this summer.

Kidz'hibit is an ongoing project featuring artwork produced by children and youth that have participated in AGW programs including Art Discovery, tour/studios, Sundays in the Studio, drop-in and Outreach events. During our summer 2012 exhibition programming, generous support was given by Local CAW and Local 444 for Kidz'Hibit and the educational components of the Made in America, 1900-1950: Photographs from the National Gallery of Canada.
