Family Fun Saturdays In the Studio! with Sandra Ellis

Thanks to the generous and ongoing support of Anne Safranyos and family, we're excited to announce Saturdays in the Studio, is back at the AGW! Create your own masterpiece inspired by current exhibitions and featured artists! 

Take a walk through time and space to explore nature throughout the day and natures beauty in time.

To Participate: 

  1. All participants MUST pre-register online. Drop-in between 1-4pm on Saturdays.
  2. This program is free with admission to the AGW and open to all.
  3. Masks must be worn and safety guidelines must be followed. 
  4. Familiarize yourself with the AGW Code of Conduct

Saturday, May 7: Watercolour - Sun Set Silhouette - Register Here 

Soft background washes of a sun set in a rainbow of colours, with a stark contrast of black silhouettes of trees.

Saturday, May 14: Acrylic – Sun Rise with Birch Trees - Register Here

Layered warm and cool colours to express the feel depth of seeing the sunrise through the trees

Soft washes of chalk in secondary application and eraser technique, then detailed with pen.

Saturday, May 28: Lino Block Trees - Register Here

Knife cut lino, black ink printed on print paper, explore the wonders of the detail found in the age of an old tree

 

About the Facilitator: Sandra Ellis

Professional Designer, Sandra has been teaching Illustration, drafting/design and Art History at St. Clair College for over 30 years. She has been a member of the local arts community for over 40 years.  Enjoys acrylic, oil and watercolour painting, Plein-air, printmaking, chalk, pen pencil sketching, and interior and architectural illustration.
